Booking Terms And Conditions

Last updated: 6 November 2026

These terms apply to every trip booked directly with The Sailing Adventure on this website, by email, WhatsApp or phone. By booking you accept them. Please read them before you pay.

1. Who you book with

HORIZON NAUTICAL VENTURES S.L., trading as "The Sailing Adventure", NIF B05605704, Calle D'Antoni Maria Alcover 2, entresuelo 1C, 07011 Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Email info@thesailingadventure.com, phone and WhatsApp +34 677 015 626. Horizon sells the trips in its own name and issues your receipt. The yacht Sayang is provided with its crew by its owner and registered operator, Sail Adventure Ltd (NIF N0274862B), holder of the Balearic yacht-rental registration no. GOIBE336880/2026.

If you booked through another platform (for example Viator or GetYourGuide), that platform's terms on payment, changes and cancellation apply to your booking. Sections 6 to 10 of these terms (on board) apply to everyone.

2. Our trips: a charter of the whole yacht

Every trip we offer is a charter of our whole 54 ft sailing yacht with its professional crew, for recreational sailing within the Bay of Palma, departing from Club de Mar, Palma. We take a maximum of 10 guests on board on any charter. Before boarding, the adults in your group sign our Charter Agreement, which names the yacht, the date, the period and everyone on board, as Balearic rules require for every charter. Bring a valid ID or passport for every person.

  • Private charter (Half Day, Sunset and Full Day): the whole yacht for your group only.
  • Shared charter (Half Day and Sunset): the whole yacht for one departure, chartered jointly by the guests who join it under one Charter Agreement; each party signs it. On the website we call these departures "shared trips". Shared charters are for guests aged 13 and over.

What is included is described on each trip page and in your confirmation. The route, swim stops and time at each stop are decided by the skipper on the day according to wind, sea and safety. Sailing depends on the wind: when there is enough wind, the sails go up.

3. Prices and payment

Prices are in euros and include Spanish VAT. The price is the one shown at checkout when you book. Online bookings are paid in full at booking by card through our booking system (Bokun) and our payment provider Stripe. For private Full Day trips booked online you may choose to pay a deposit; the deposit and the date the balance is due are shown at checkout. For bookings made with us by WhatsApp, email or phone we send a secure payment link, which may offer payment of a deposit with the balance due before the trip, as stated in the link. Your booking is confirmed when you receive our confirmation email. If the balance is not paid by the date stated, we may cancel the booking under section 4. Extras (for example towels, champagne, cake or SeaBob) can be added at booking or on board and are paid in addition.

4. Changes and cancellation by you

You can cancel free of charge, with a full refund, if you tell us in time:

  • Shared charters: at least 24 hours before departure.
  • Private Half Day and Sunset charters: at least 48 hours before departure.
  • Private Full Day charters: at least 7 days before departure.

If you cancel later, or do not show up, the price is not refunded.

To change the date, contact us before these deadlines; we will move your booking free of charge if a date is available. After the deadline a change is at our discretion.

Refunds are made to the card used for payment, normally within 5 to 10 working days.

Right of withdrawal: under Spanish consumer law (article 103.l of Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007) there is no 14-day right of withdrawal for leisure services booked for a specific date. The cancellation rules above apply instead.

5. Weather and cancellation by us

Your safety comes first. We cancel a trip for weather when, in the Bay of Palma, the sustained wind is above 25 knots, the waves are higher than 1 metre where the trip is planned, or AEMET has an orange or red warning for the Bay of Palma during the trip, or when the skipper reasonably judges that the conditions are not safe. You then choose between a new date (subject to availability) or a full refund. We tell you as early as possible, by WhatsApp or email. Details are in our Weather Policy.

Ordinary weather such as light or moderate rain, a passing shower, a short squall or clouds is not a reason to cancel. If the trip can go ahead safely, it is not refunded or moved because the weather is not to your liking; the normal cancellation rules in section 4 apply.

If we have to cancel for another reason (for example a technical problem with the boat), the same choice applies: a new date or a full refund.

If a trip has to be cut short for safety reasons after departure, you choose between a partial refund for the unused part of the trip or a voucher of the same value.

We are not responsible for other costs you may have (transport, hotel, other bookings) if a trip is cancelled.

6. Arrival and boarding

Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes before departure at the meeting point in your confirmation.

  • Shared charters: we wait a maximum of 10 minutes after departure time, then leave out of respect for the other guests on board. Late arrival or a missed departure counts as a no-show (no refund).
  • Private Half Day and Sunset charters: we wait up to 1 hour 30 minutes. Private Full Day charters: we wait up to 2 hours. In both cases the waiting time comes off your trip time. After that the trip cannot be delivered and counts as a no-show.

The trip ends where it started.

7. On board

  • The skipper is responsible for the boat and everyone on board. Please follow the skipper's and crew's safety instructions at all times. The skipper may refuse boarding or end the trip for any guest who puts safety at risk, including through excessive drinking, without refund.
  • Alcohol is only served to guests aged 18 and over, and in moderation.
  • Swimming, snorkelling and paddleboarding are at your own risk and only when the crew says it is safe. Tell us before the trip about any health condition, pregnancy, non-swimmers or children who need special attention. The crew cannot give medication; please bring your own seasickness remedy if you need one.
  • Children must be supervised by their parents or guardians at all times.
  • Own food and drinks: on a private charter, welcome. On a shared charter: small snacks and canned drinks are fine; anything else must be ready to serve and shared with the group; no large bottles.
  • Smoking is not allowed anywhere on board. E-cigarettes and vapes are allowed on deck only, never below deck.
  • Please look after your belongings. We are not responsible for lost or damaged personal items, except where caused by our fault.
  • Guests are responsible for damage they cause to the boat or equipment on purpose or through gross negligence.

8. Allergies and special requests

Tell us about allergies and dietary needs when booking. We do our best to meet them, but food is prepared in a small galley and we cannot guarantee that any item is free of traces of allergens.

9. Liability and insurance

The boat is commercially insured, including civil liability towards passengers. Our liability is limited to what the law provides; nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Photos

The crew may take photos during the trip to share with you. We only publish photos in which you can be recognised if you agree. See our Privacy Policy.

11. Gift cards

a) What a gift card is. Our gift cards are vouchers issued by Horizon Nautical Ventures S.L. They come in two kinds: a gift with a named experience (for example "Golden Hour for Two", "Private Island Escape") and a value card for any amount between 50 and 1,000 EUR. The card is delivered as a PDF with a code; the receiver books a trip online with our booking calendar and enters the code at checkout, or writes to us.

b) Season and validity. Our season runs from mid-April to mid-November (2027: 15 April to 14 November). Shared charters, which the "for two" gifts give access to, run from 1 May to 30 September; private whole-yacht gifts and value cards can be used on any sailing day of the season. Gifts bought for Christmas 2026 are valid for the whole 2027 season. If no date in 2027 suits the receiver, we extend the gift to the 2028 season on request, free of charge. The card does not carry an expiry date in our booking system; bookings are subject to availability.

c) Named gifts and price changes. A named gift covers the experience described on the card, for the number of guests stated, including the extras named (for example Premium Champagne or welcome cocktails), whatever our list prices are when it is redeemed.

d) Value cards and remaining balance. A value card can be spent on any trip or extra. If the booking costs less than the card, the remaining balance stays on the card for a later booking or extras. If it costs more, the receiver pays the difference at checkout.

e) Transfer. Gift cards are transferable: whoever holds the code may use it. Keep the code safe; we cannot replace a code that has been used by someone else.

f) Cash value and refunds. Gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash and are not refunded once used. If you bought a gift card online, you may cancel the purchase within 14 days of the purchase date for a full refund, provided the card has not been used (right of withdrawal, Spanish consumer law). After that, the purchase is final.

g) Trips booked with a gift card. The normal rules of these terms apply to the trip. If the receiver cancels within the free cancellation period of section 4, the value returns to the card; outside it, the value is lost as with any booking. If we cancel for weather or safety (section 5), the receiver chooses a new date or a full refund of the amount paid for the trip; where the trip was paid with a gift card, the refund goes back to the card, or in cash to the receiver on request.

h) Christmas bonus. For gifts ordered by 15 December 2026 we add a Mallorca Spritz or a cocktail of choice for every guest on the gifted trip (for value cards of 250 EUR or more: for two guests). The bonus is served on board, has no cash value and cannot be transferred to another booking. Whole-yacht gifts are limited to 20 of each this Christmas.

i) Company purchases. Companies can order several gift cards with one invoice; write to info@thesailingadventure.com.

12. Complaints

If something was not as expected, please tell the crew on board or write to info@thesailingadventure.com; we answer within 10 days. Official complaint forms (hojas de reclamaciones) of the Balearic Islands are available on board and by email on request. You may also contact the consumer authority of the Balearic Islands or the consumer arbitration system.

13. Law and courts

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may go to the courts of your place of residence as provided by law.
